Gernert Grove Playscape at Kentucky Country Day School in Louisville, KY. KCD is a CAPN Project of Excellence awardee, demonstrating their commitment to providing children with the space and opportunity to engage in meaningful free play in nature.
Kentucky Country Day School in Louisville, KY has been a longtime partner of the CAPN, and was the first organization to be awarded the Children at Play Network’s Project of Excellence award, highlighting their commitment to not only creating great nature play spaces, but also committing to teacher trainings, continuing education, and dedicating their program to the development of happy healthy children through play.
We worked with the KCD nature playground team and the site design firm SWT Design to understand the vision of the project and provide insight into the importance of free play in nature.
