The Children at Play Network hosts quarterly State of Play programs for CAPN members. These in-person and virtual gatherings of CAPN members is part of the work of building a regional network of play advocates focused on improving the landscape of play for every person in our region. The next State of Play gathering will be a virtual gathering on Tuesday, January 24th, 2023. If you are a CAPN member we hope you will join us. If you are not a CAPN member we hope you might consider joining the network.
State of Play: Working Together to Host Free Play Day Events
Tuesday, January 24th from noon to 1:00
A virtual link will be sent to members prior to the event
This State of Play will provide an opportunity to collectively think about how we might create more opportunities for families to learn about free play by attending pop up free play events at schools, libraries, events, parks and public playgrounds. It will also explore how we might all work together to support each other in our free play event programming.
A highlight of this State of Play will be a chance to hear from Lindsay Brauer Dzielski who we met at the International Play Alliance USA meeting that took place in San Antonio Texas in October. Lindsay is a Play Advocate with the COT Neighbors United . Tonawanda is a city located between Niagara Falls and Buffalo NY. Lindsay is the citizen force behind amazing free play events that she has pulled together for her community. Lindsay saw a need and then did the hard work to make her vision happen. You will be impressed by the play days she has hosted.
Lindsay’s talk will be followed up by CAPN news about a new CAPN Free Play Facilitator Training Institute. And then we will open the conversation for you to share news about your free play events and how we might work to support each other.
