CAPN is pleased to announce Meghan Talarowski, founder and executive director of Studio Ludo, a non-profit whose mission is building better play through research, design, and advocacy, will speak at CAPN’s first virtual Members-only State of Play from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on Sept. 13th.
Meghan will discuss a first-of-its kind observational study conducted in 10 major U.S. cities on the impacts of playground design on children’s physical activity, play behavior and health. Meghan led the study, which was funded by the National Institute of Health.

State of Play events are quarterly gatherings that provide opportunities for CAPN members to hear speakers and meet other play advocates in the region to share information, strategies and ideas. Short amounts of time are scheduled within the gathering for invited individuals to address specific topics, share projects, announce programs, or bring new ideas to the table. If there is interest in a specific topic, or an idea might need more time than the one-hour State of Play format supports, the CAPN may convene a follow-up conversation.
A Zoom link will be provided via email the day before the State of Play gatherings.
Mark your calendars for the next State of Play on Tuesday, December 6th from 12-1 p.m.
The Children at Play Network works at the community level to advocate for free play in the outdoors so that every child has a place in nature where they feel free, safe, healthy, empowered, and joyful. That vision is only possible when we pool our collective imaginations, passions and hard work. We want to hear from you. If there is something YOU think needs to be included in an upcoming State of Play conversation, please reach out to us and we will find you time.
