In early August the Playcosystem team had a very productive first meeting with Paige Maynard and Staci Maynard who work with Visually Impaired Preschool Services or VIPS. This first meeting was for both teams to find out a little more about each other but the long term goal will be to put our collective heads together to see if we can figure out great ways to make Playcosystem more valuable as a place of play for children with visual impairments. Paige and Staci shared some great first step suggestions with us and we hope to find ways to work together in the future.
VIPS is a non-profit organization with the mission of…
empowering families by providing educational excellence to young children with visual impairments in order to build a strong foundation for reaching their highest potential.
All children, regardless of ability or circumstances, deserve great landscapes for play. Since Playcosystem is a laboratory for play we want to try out new ideas here that might possibly make more inclusive play opportunities available in more play environment. Onward.
