The Children at Play Network hosts free play days at Bernheim and out in the community. We will make those dates known through our website, the Bernheim calendar and through the communication channels of partnership organizations in the community.
We also host private free play days for schools, child care centers, libraries, and organizations interested in contracting with the Children at Play Network. Contact Melissa Rue at mrue@bernheim.com for more information.
Bernheim hosts several special events throughout the year including BugFest, CONNECT and ColorFest. Free Play Zones are part of the fun. Visit Bernheim’s calendar to plan your family’s next trip to enjoy free play with all of regular features – boxes, tarps, rope, sticks and strings – as well as Mud and Bubble Play Zones.
Check the blog section to see photos from free play days at Bernheim and in the community.
Bernheim has a team of facilitators that provide supervision and expertise in helping to “invite” children to play in a variety of ways. Free play facilitators make “loose parts” – tree cookies, ropes, twine and boxes – available to children to use as they wish and encourage play. Free play facilitators are also on hand to help parents learn about and encourage healthy free play for their children.
